Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Howto Playbooks ("we", "us") handles information collected when you visit howto-playbooks.com or purchase one of our digital playbooks. We have written this policy to be readable rather than defensive — if anything is unclear, email support@howto-playbooks.com.

1. What we collect

• Server logs. Standard request data — IP address, timestamp, page requested, referrer, user agent. Used to monitor service health and protect against abuse. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
• Advertising cookies. When you arrive from a Google Ads campaign, Google sets cookies (including a Google Click Identifier, "gclid") that allow us to measure which ads led to a purchase. These cookies are managed by Google under Google's own privacy terms.
• Purchase data. When you buy a playbook, the checkout is operated by Lemon Squeezy (Atlar Inc., d/b/a Lemon Squeezy). Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for the transaction. They collect your name, email, billing address, and payment details — we receive only your email and order metadata. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
• Email you give us voluntarily. If you enter your email address to unlock free sample prompts or to receive updates, we store that address so we can send you occasional new prompts and product news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us. We never sell your email address.
• Support correspondence. If you email us, we retain that email for as long as needed to help you and resolve any issues.

2. How we use it

• To deliver the playbook you purchased and provide customer support.
• To send you the free prompts you requested and, if you opted in, occasional follow-up emails with new prompts and product news (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To measure which ads and content actually help people find the product (conversion measurement via Google Ads).
• To improve the playbook content based on aggregate, non-identifying usage signals.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers beyond what is technically necessary for the ad attribution described above.

3. Third parties we use

• Cloudflare — site hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare Pages).
• Google Ads — campaign delivery and conversion measurement.
• Lemon Squeezy — Merchant of Record for all purchases.

4. Your rights (California residents)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") gives you the right to request:

• Disclosure of the categories of personal information we have collected about you.
• Deletion of personal information we hold about you.
• Opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the CCPA sense.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@howto-playbooks.com with the subject line "CCPA request". We will respond within 45 days.

5. Children

Howto Playbooks is intended for adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, email us and we will delete it.

6. Geographic availability

This site is currently offered to visitors in the United States. Visitors from other regions are shown a notice page and we do not knowingly process personal data from those visitors beyond what is needed to display that notice.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
